Michael Byrne QC, Barrister-at-Law, Queensland Bar was elected as President of the Australian Greyhound Racing Association in 2011. Michael is the President of the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club and a life member of that club as well as a life member of the Cairns Greyhound Racing Club.
Michael has previously held the position of Deputy Chair of the Greyhound Racing Authority (Qld).
Michael was first called to the Bar in 1977 and took silk in 1993. Michael specialises in criminal law and has appeared in a number of the seminal High Court cases emanating from Queensland. He was, formerly, an Acting Judge of the District Court and the Queensland Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions. He presently has chambers in Brisbane. Michael was the Vice President of the Queensland Bar Association for the years of 2008 and 2009.

Howard Ashton
Executive Officer of the Australian Greyhound Racing Association

Howard Ashton was appointed Executive Officer of the Australian Greyhound Racing Association in September 2011.
Howard was Secretary-Manager of the AGRC full time from 1971 until 1996 when he became Racing Operations Manager until he retired in 2000. Howard has continued to follow greyhound racing since his retirement and is never far away from Angle Park, he has been close to the sport he has loved all his life and has never stopped working for its improvement. In July 2011 Howard Ashton was appointed to a new advisor board in South Australia and as always he is more than happy to add his invaluable knowledge and experience to help Greyhound Racing in his home state state he has already contributed so much of his time and energy too.
Howard is a Life member of the AGRC and has an upstairs room at Angle Park named in his honour a fitting tribute to someone who achieved so much. An AGRA Hall of Fame member Howard is the first independent Executive Officer to hold office a position usually filled by a member club CEO.

Brenton Scott
Executive Officer and Group Race Co-Ordinator of the Australian Greyhound Racing Association

Brenton Scott was appointed as Group Racing Co-Ordinator for the Australian Greyhound Racing Association in September 1995 a position he had held currently since that time. Mr Scott is based in NSW and is also the Executive Office of the NSW Greyhound Breeders, Owners andTrainers'' Association Limited.

Neil Brown
Publicity Officer of the Australian Greyhound Racing Association

Neil Brown was appointed as Publicity Officer for the Australian Greyhound Racing Association in September 2005. He brings to the role 43 years involvement in greyhound racing with 25 of those years spent in covering the sport in print, radio and television. He produces a detailed Press Release of every Group 1 and 2 Final, as well as a preview/promotional release for every Group 1 Race, as well as reporting on all AGRA activities on radio and television.
